This coffee was fermented for 40 hours inside grain pro bags adding CO2. Afterwards, the cherries were hand sorted, floated and placed on raised beds until the ideal moisture content was achieved.
Nelson Hurtado has picked coffee for as long as he can remember. He used to travel around Antioquia aiming to work with the most productive farms in order to be able to pick more cherries (pickers are often paid by kilogram picked). Nelson arrived in Gitania 15 years ago to work as a picker and 5 years ago with his savings he was able to purchase his own farm.
These days, Nelson grows his coffee surrounded by many other fruit trees. Nelson is enchanted with the animals living in the region. He enjoys looking after the birds that visit his farm daily. He believes that caring for the trees and plant life he grows attract more birds to his farm.
